Training OF health workers destined for conflict and war zones. Old challenges and new approaches

      Аннотация: How could health initiatives contribute potentially to peace initiation and conflict transformation? Can health workers in conflict zones deal with the psychological and social aspects of the disputes and conflicts in the areas they work in as well as with health and disease prevention? Can they act as potential agents to smoothing the conflicts and initiating reconciliation processes in dangerous conflict areas? Can they operate in long standing threatening conditions which may limit the accessibility of other humanitarian services and peace workers in such zones? What other tools should the health staff posses before planning to serve in the fragile zones? Would their status as doctors help them engage more closely and trustingly with their patients for enabling and promoting peace?
