Аннотация: This book examined the management of conflicts between trade unions and government in Nigeria and researched into the causes of conflict based on three underlying factors: political, social and economic. Six hypotheses were tested and primary data were collected through structured questionnaire and interview. 72 respondents were selected through non-random sampling in which 42 trade union officials and 30 government representatives constituted the sample size. The study employed descriptive statistics, chi-square test, t-test and analysis of variance to analyse the data. The book revealed that there was no significant difference in the opinions between trade unions and government respondents on causes of conflict. The findings also revealed that significant differences were recorded between trade unions and government respondents on indicators of conflict, but there was no significant difference between their responses on the methods adopted in managing conflicts and on the factors that are responsible for improving conflict management in Nigeria. The study revealed that both trade unions and government concur on the political, social and economic factors as cause of conflicts
