Analyzing Anxiety and Depression among Pregnant Women in Plateau State. Nigeria

      Аннотация: Pregnancy can change a woman, not only from a physical point of view, but also from a psychological one. Pregnancy and childbirth is a state which not only has complexities, but it is also a situation in which complications can occur, and these affect a pregnant mother as well as her unborn baby in various ways. Pregnancy is a period full of growth, change, enrichment and challenges. Becoming pregnant for some women is a joyful period, while for many women this is a time of confusion, fear, sadness, stress, and even depression. Some women dread pregnancy, due to the physical and psychological problems they have experienced in previous pregnancies or what they are experiencing in the current one. These experiences cause an increase in anxiety and depression during pregnancy; and if not properly managed, it is usually detrimental to mothers and their babies. This book brings to light the symptoms and causes of anxiety and depression among pregnant women in Pankshin L.G.A. Of Plateau State, Nigeria. Included are some strategies to help manage anxiety and depression during pregnancy, which will help save mothers and their babies from traumatic experiences during and after childbirth.
