Аннотация: This book is authoritative surveys of the relationship between image and word through the semiotic-iconographic method in ancient Egypt. It clarifies the human feelings and expressions through gestures which were provided by depictions in art, such as hieroglyphic writing and scenes in tombs, temples and on stelae, that include some of gestures as a word and image at the same time to express many meanings and human feelings. This study is a deep archaeological work traces one of most important gestures in ancient Egypt which is called hnw. It begins by tracking it and its different meanings, forms of writing, and linguistic structures derived from it, its importance in ancient Egyptian religion thought and Egyptian art. The book is supported with appendices as a list of illustrative tables, list of figures, chronology and bibliography.
