Аннотация: The book is an important contribution to the study of African immigrants in Smaller towns in South Africa. Utilizing questionnaires, observations and in-depth interviews to collect the data for the study. The book enriches our knowledge of migrants' experience in small towns of contemporary South Africa. The book identifies pull factors of internal migration to smaller towns in South Africa as well as the survival strategies of immigrants as they are discriminated upon. The book is an excellent example of, and documents the deplorable treatment of immigrants' by a number of state agencies and department and charts the modalities of popular xenophobia in smaller towns in contemporary South Africa. The book explores immigrants' strategies of socio-cultural identification and economic survival in conditions of considerable adversity. The book proposes for more and better socio-economic environment to African immigrants in smaller towns of contemporary South Africa.
