Аннотация: Motivation is an issue that has been of great concern to people in different works of life especially in psychology. Psychologists in all branches of the discipline contribute to our understanding of teaching, learning, and education, some study the ages at which children become capable of attaining various cognitive skills and the effects of motivation in learning. Even in the school system, it is required that both students and teachers be highly motivated in order to be efficient in their place of work as teachers or to improve on academic performance as students.Motivation is a key factor in the teaching and learning environment. When students are well motivated, the objectives of teaching will be achieved (Koko 2000). This study will contribute to exposing how motivation in the classroom will be understood so as to increase academic performance of students. Teachers will be able to identify the best ways of motivating their students to bring them to develop interest in learning, using appropriate motivational techniques for effective teaching and learning and academic achievement of students.
