Presentation of Middle-Class Life in R.K.Narayan’s Selected Novels.

      Аннотация: This book gives a clear picture of R.K.Narayan's selected Novelization, with all his intimate observation and experience, has tried to reveal the characteristic qualities of middle- class men and women. According to him, there are people who give utmost importance to the production of their family which consists of father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter and so on. They are susceptible to simple superstitions, belief in horoscopes, in God etc. They regard self-respect and dignity as their valuable possessions. They are also interested in the value of money and other materialistic possessions. Narayan’s novels selected for the study reveal all these qualities. To put it in a nutshell, the essence of all the novels is delineation of middle-class life The Dark Room, The Financial Expert and The Guide depict the middle-class South Indian life most authentically. It shows how, the plots of his stories are interwoven round the middle-class life. It offers the students and other readers a variety of ways to interpret a piece of literature.
