      Аннотация: Cairo's spectacular heritage never could be equaled with any other Islamic city; the clarity of tracing its historical and architectural development is a non-comparing factor with other cultural tourist destinations. The book gives an overview of main archaeological treasures in Cairo through the investigation of monuments spanning the age of Islamic civilization in Egypt. The contribution provides a summarized introduction for Islamic architectural highlights in Cairo from the early Islamic period through the Fatimid, Ayyubid, Bahri Mamluk, Circassian Mamluk and Ottoman periods.
