Task-induced Involvement Load. Affecting Second Language Vocabulary Learning

      Аннотация: Vocabulary is an undeniablly important component of second language learning. Over the years, Many attempts have been made to facilitate the learning of this significant language component. This book is a report of another such attempt. The task-based approach to language learning is claimed to offer a strong theoretical and pedagogical framework within which language learning, in general, and vocabulary learning, in particular, can be facilitated. However, the task-based approach has had its share of criticism as well. One of the basic concerns with regard to task work is the degree of cognitive involvement induced by the task and the way it affects the success of task work. This book includes a theoretical review as well as an empirical analysis of the effect of task-induced involvement load index on second language vocabulary learning.
