      Аннотация: This is the era of differentiation and innovation through specialization. In this hyper-competitive environment, differentiation can only be achieved by having mechanisms to innovate better processes and products that are specialized, hence narrowing the scope of delivery. Whereas software engineering standards focus on the direct delivery of software, they sometimes fail to connect with the realities of commercial business. It is clear that many additional concepts are needed in the software producing community. Therefore organizations that produce software for commercial or internal consumption face many challenges in their pursuit of successful systems delivery: A multitude of concepts used in the business world are missing in the software engineering domain. These include concepts such as new product development, decision-making, people development, organizational structure design and management related processes. The momentum that already exists in the general management and software engineering fraternities has ingrained common thinking practices. These practices are not easily challenged.
