Some Case Studies about the Hydroelectric Power Development in Vietnam.

      Аннотация: Hydroelectricity contributes 17% into the world generated electricity and play an important role in energy supply in many countries. In Vietnam, natural conditions create favorable conditions for hydroelectric power development. There has been massive development of hydroelectricity in recent years, causing serious negative impact on environment and living of residents. More remarkably, there is lack of fully investigation about negative impacts of hydroelectric power development in Vietnam until present. This makes the negative impacts of hydropower more serious and widespread. How to mitigate the adverse environmental impacts of hydroelectric power development become a hot topic in press and Parliament of Vietnam. This book is a critically review the environmental impacts for extending the future development of hydroelectric power plants in Vietnam. Some case stydies about hydroelectric stations in other countries such as UK, China also presented in the book for a comprehensive look about hydropower development in the world.
