Аннотация: Cancer has become one of the most prevalent diseases since past few decades with increasing mortality rates. Alternative medicine along with conventional therapy is accentuating the interests of researchers in the field of Oncology. Herbal adjuncts not only reduce nutrition impact symptoms during therapy, but also prevent and alleviate occurrence of cancer. They act mainly by destroying cancer cells, decrease the pace of cancer cell growth and help in managing or alleviating the Nutrition Impact Symptoms associated with cancer treatment. The anti-cancer property of any plant can be identified and assessed by various protocols. Advances in the field of genomics and cancer are now focusing on specific biomarkers in understanding the extent to which the body responds to the herbal adjunct. Another emerging field in this area is Nutrigenomics, where the research is mainly aimed at identifying food components that influence transcription factor, DNA modification & methylation; and expression of gene. The book chapter focuses on the use of herbal adjuncts that have anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, tumor growth inhibiting property and their ability to manage nutrition impact symptoms.
