      Аннотация: The increasing population in the an area around wetlands will continue to exert substantial pressure on that wetlands and its resources due to rural -urban migration and high demand for cultivatable lands.The readers of this book will learn that wetlands are always encroached and abused by the community around if not legally protected . The readers of this book will further learn that crop cultivation have numerous effects on wetlands ecosystems in terms of loss of habitats for wetlands ecosystems,they will understand also the functions and values of wetlands to the community around it and will be able to identify mechanisms that can be used to reduce wetlands degradation in the surrounding area. For wetlands to be safe, stakeholders are to promote community sensitization through creating awareness among the people who are cultivating on the wetlands. Besides,the readers of this book will learn that it is the role of the stakeholders to look at the possibility of developing, promoting and strengthening wetland monitoring systems so that in case of any abuse, solutions can be sought immediately before the wetlands are degraded severely.
