The overall objective must be to reduce stress on the bird by improving feed utilization by assisting with resistance against enteric and infectious diseases. This requires consideration of both the levels of nutrients in feeds and feed additives. Addition of antibiotics to feeds have their own limitations such as residue in broiler meat and the development of resistant bacteria with possible spread of pathogens to human population.
