Cultural Leisure and Leisure Behaviour for Social Change. Cultural Leisure Concept and Behaviour, Ibadan and Benin Metropolis in Perspective

      Аннотация: The determination of the quality of life and well being could be hinged on the way of life of the people; therefore participating in leisure activities of one’s choice can bring positive outcomes. More especially, participating in cultural leisure activities can enhance community cohesion and strength. Cultural activities is a valuable forum and means for innovation and dialogue for economic, spiritual, mental and social development. Participation in cultural leisure activities have been streamlined with no special emphases placed on the ways each culture prefers. The concept of culture and leisure allows us to acknowledge some inherent aspects of human nature such as the need for identification, creativity, our history, attunement for cultural aesthetics and spirituality which enhances the propensity for play and enjoyment. Given to the variety of factors these concept covers, it is expedient to focus on our freedom as a people to express our cultural identity which we are and also eulogize and celebrate our cultural differences. This will further strengthen the interactions within us and with other cultures, creating opportunities within leisure and culture domain.
