      Аннотация: The underdevelopment of most countries of the world lies with violent conflicts which tore apart collective unity and harmonious peaceful co-existence. Nigeria is one of such countries that experienced different forms of conflicts that truncated her unity and national cohesion. Arising from this fact, this book interrogated the causes/effects, nature and dynamics of electoral violence in Tiv society of Benue State in Nigeria during the 20th and 21st Centuries. The book contended that most electoral violence in this area were caused by god-fathers who imposed god-sons through dubious strategies for their selfish interests. The resistance of such imposition by the poor masses (protest, riots, peaceful demonstrations etc.) often leads to destruction of lives and property worth billions of naira. The book is timely because its provides answers to how electoral violence could be averted. The book is recommendable for: academia, policy makers, researchers, diplomats, students of history, and people from all walks of life who needs insight into the dynamics of electoral violence in Nigeria and Africa at large.
