Аннотация: In the last five decades, intravenous urography (IVU) was the initial imaging modality in patients with hematuria, renal colic and other urological disorders. Introduction of multislice computed tomography (MSCT) has led to considerable changes in uroradiological imaging. Application of MSCT specifically aimed at visualization of the urinary tract is referred to as multislice computed tomography urography (MSCTU). MSCTU is becoming the leading modality in diagnostic algorithm of macroscopic hematuria, and in addition, in the evaluation of microscopic hematuria and unexplained obstruction of the urinary tract. Introduction of MSCTU triggers the transition of multiple consecutive examinations to a single one (MSCTU – all in one) thus shortening time of diagnostic procedure (and hospital stay) and providing more precise diagnosis.
