Breast cancer diagnosis in mammogram images.

      Аннотация: Breast cancer is a common threat to woman’s lives worldwide. For reduction of the death rate due to breast cancer, early detection and treatment are of utmost necessity. Recent developments in digital imaging systems have aimed to better diagnosis of abnormalities present in the breast. In the current scenario, mammography is a common reliable imaging modality used for breast screening. It has been studied that radiologists report several interpretations for the same mammographic image. Thus, mammogram interpretation is a repetitive task that requires maximum attention for the avoidance of misinterpretation. The limitations in reading mammogram images manually by radiologists have motivated an interest to the use of computerized systems to aid the process. Therefore, at present, computer-aided diagnosis systems (CAD) for breast cancer diagnosis is becoming increasingly a necessity given the exponential growth of performed mammograms. This system analyzes the mammograms with the usage of image processing and pattern recognition techniques. The CAD system recognizes the type of tissues automatically by collecting and analyzing significant features from mammographic images.
