Cleft Lip and Palate: Influence on Family. The Impact of Cleft on Family Quality of Life Before and After Reconstructive Surgery

      Аннотация: Having a baby is always a great challenge for future parents. A various feelings are presented- expectations, happiness, being proud of reaching an important life milestone, completing of the marriage. These feelings are turned into disappointment with the fact of having a baby with inborn aberrancy so much visible to surrounding at first sight. Parents are set into new role with the need for understanding of the disease and preparing themselves and their child to operations and the need for overcoming all obstacles connected with this disease. The impact on parents is undoubted, however only a small number of experimental studies are trying to evaluate this impact. This book is dedicated to parents, whose cooperation with surgeons and other members of cleft team is crucial.
