Taenia solium infections among rural communities in Northern Uganda.

      Аннотация: This book provides the topic of general interest to all scholars who are engaged in conducting research on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) particularly, in the areas of Neurocysticercosis/cysticercosis. It focuses on the diagnosis of Neurocysticercosis in poor rural community in Northern Uganda. This is an area which experienced a lot of turmoil due to protracted war in the last 20 years during which health systems were mostly destroyed. Therefore, the book provides an insight of Taenia solium cysticercosis in the context of post war effects. The researchers will find it interesting the information compiled from wealth of experiences in areas of NTDs. The context, the style, methods employed to get the data, other interesting topics therein are all exciting. The readers will no doubt yearn to learn more from the context of NTDs in Northern Uganda. More interesting aspects of diagnosis using recent techniques have been adequately included in this book. An exploratory evaluation approach to understand the geographic antigenic variation to the diagnostic responses have also been covered.
