Industrial Project Procurement Utilizing Analytic Hierarchy Process. A practical guide for procuring industrial plant equipment with approach to engineering project management principles

      Аннотация: Procurement of industrial projects equipment is essential and crucial task that needs to be given utmost care and attention of all involved parties. The purchased equipment will impact the plant technical and commercial conditions either positively or negatively for years to come. Accordingly constructing a supplier selection model for procuring industrial project equipment considered an important endeavor. The main objective of the study is to establish supplier selection model (SSM) for procuring industrial project equipment utilizing Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) theory, using Excel Spreadsheets and MATLAB applications. The selected case study is project for constructing chlorine alkali plant. A system for managing project procurement phases utilizing Primavera software is presented. Microsoft Access application is introduced to assist procurement personnel in performing project's purchase orders. The analysis of the results emphasized the need for the proposed SSM to be used in procuring industrial project equipment through including important factors and criteria that are not considered in traditional purchasing methods.
