Аннотация: In the modern world, even though synthetic drugs are readily available and highly capable in curing diseases, there are people who still prefer using traditional medicines. Medicinal plants are sources of unknown chemical substances with potential therapeutic effects. It is essential to know the proper use, curative dose concept and role of their active ingredients in current treatment system. The high cost of modern drug and inaccessibility of medicinal health care facilities in rural areas, compel the local people to rely on medicinal plants. Studies revealed that the use of drugs based on folk knowledge without any scientific screening is dangerous. The book covers wide information of methods to analyse, identify and determine the authenticity of the selected drug in herbal industry. The methods of analysis mentioned in the book help in quality control check of the crude drugs in future for maintaining quality, safety and reproducibility and act as a major tool for obtaining a quality control profile of a drug.
