Phytochemistry and Pharmacology of Milkweed Family Herbs.

      Аннотация: To make disease free healthy life medicinal plants are the nature’s gift to human beings. It plays a very important role to conserve our health. India is one of the most diverse countries in the world and the main traditional systems of medicine include Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha. From ancient times in India different parts of medicinal plants have been used for curing various diseases. In this regard, Calotropis procera, H. indicus and Gymnema sylvestre are the herbs of milkweed family have reported number of pharmacological activities from antique times. The diseases treated by synthetic drugs showed varieties of side effects that’s why population turns towards the herbal remedies. Herbal drugs contain various phytoconstituents and work in ensemble manner to treat disease. The recent book represents pharmacognostic characteristics and the pharmacological potential, traditional as well as reported pharmacological activities of milkweed family herbs.
