Аннотация: The interaction between nature and society has reached a turning point, as we have approached planetary boundaries of existence. At this point, linear model of production and consumption is reaching its physical limits. This is why, we must create necessary conditions for the transition to a sustainable economic model of development based on absolute decoupling and effective use of resources – “Circular Economy”. In order to progress as an independent country with a competitive economy, the Republic of Moldova must adopt a sustainable development model, which involves the transition from a highly dependent country on imported resources, which it uses inefficient, to a country with increased productivity of the use of natural resources, with minimal impact on the environment. Only by capturing the economic value of generated waste, Moldova can create an efficient waste market, which can offer net carbon savings and a resource efficient contribution to the economy. This book is intended to present how essential is for Moldova to prioritize the concern regarding waste management and their contribution in overcoming the ecological created deficit.
