Training Needs of Front Line Workers on Data Management in Bihar,India.

      Аннотация: To take any decision we rely on authentic, reliable, accurate and correct information. In this view of information when we look at the health sector we see that the same kind of information, with all its attributes, is needed to take any decision regarding the health of people. This study was conducted to know the training needs of the health workers before the actual start of the training program for them. The study area is 3 blocks of Munger district namely: Sadar, Jamalpur and Dharhara. Data were collected in two weeks in January 2010 through semi-structured schedules for ANMs and LHVs with some open-ended questions. The study gave results on KAP in HMIS for which training is needed. The convenience sampling was taken to match the lack of time. Analysis of quantitative and qualitative data after coding was done on SPSS. The analysis showed training needs in the following areas: Knowledge 1) Knowing and understanding job responsibilities 2) Registers to be maintained at the HSC 3) Knowing supportive supervision 4) Training on HMIS; Attitude 1) Understanding importance of data 2) Training on HMIS; Practice 1) Utilization of data 2) Calculation of stock – TT 3) Calculation of expecte.
