Аннотация: Waste water treatment is ever evolving field. Removal of pollutants from waste water by more economical and environment friendly methods is important motive behind the research and studies on various treatment methods. The book contains reviews on investigations carried out on methods like Membrane Technology, Advanced Oxidation, Ozonation-U.V. Treatment and Pervaporation. Membrane technologies used for the wastewater treatment includes electrolysis, reverse osmosis, anaerobic membrane bioreactors. Membrane technology has many advantages such as less area requirement and high removal efficiency.Recycling and reuse of water is practiced in many countries. The studies and research carried out in this field revealed that the reuse and recycling is economically profitable compared to disposal of wastewater and use of fresh water for various application. Advanced oxidation methods are very effective alternative for treatment of wastewater. Various oxidizing agent like hydrogen peroxide, Fenton reagents and TiO2 catalyst can be used for effective treatment of wastewater. The advanced oxidation methods were found to be very effective when used with other treatment methods.
