Too many Pesos - not enough Dollars. The economic policy of Kirchnerism in Argentina (2003-2015)

      Аннотация: After Argentina?s 2001/02 sovereign default crisis, its economy continued to produce headlines that drew global attention during the presidencies of the Kirchner couple (2003-2015): the sovereign debt restructuring; a heated conflict between the Government and the local agroindustry; Argentina?s deleveraging for being excluded from international capital markets; a contentious expropriation to regain public control over the local energy corporation YPF; Argentina?s enormous potential in the unconventional exploitation of fossil fuels; a non-transparent and arbitrary web of currency exchange controls and trade barriers; the return of rampant inflation; airbrushed official economic indicators; a juridical tug of war with holdout creditors which ended up in another sovereign default, and many more… This work connects the dots by offering a comprehensive and critical perspective on the economic policy of Kirchnersim, based on local source material and personal interviews with experts outside the Government.
