Generic or Not?. 3rd Person Pronouns in English in Contrast with Those of Four Co-territorial Languages of the Caucasus

      Аннотация: The current book demonstrates one of the most recent studies in research of grammatical and natural gender in language. The discussion of the literature provides information concerning theoretical/historical development of language and gender studies, the he/man approach, speech communities, differences in male and female language use, sex and gender, generic pronouns, sexism in the English language, gender representation in language, gender encoding in the four co-territorial languages of the Caucasus: Armenian, Georgian, Azerbaijani, Turkish and language and women’s place. The targets of the research are gender representations in English from the perspectives of speakers of four co-territorial languages of the Caucasus.
