Аннотация: This book describes the state of children affected by the brutal war in Northern Uganda pitting the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF). The stories of the former child soldiers and those children affected by the conflict we met and interacted with were heart-rending and deeply heartbreaking. They made the difficult choice to let the world know what they went through, what they still go through and more importantly they shared their aspirations and what achieving those aspirations would entail. Self pity and apportioning blame would have been the easier choice for the former child soldiers, but they made the choice to get back to society to try and live normal lives, despite horrendous past forced upon them. For this, they are our real heroes.
