Аннотация: The term Labour Relations, also known as industrial relations, refer to the system in which Employers, Workers and their representatives and, directly or indirectly, the Government interact to set the ground rules for the governance of work relationships. This Book, studies the impact of Labour Relations on Elgin Mills Co Ltd, Kanpur (UP), India. The Cotton Textile Industry forms the main pivot round which the whole structure of the Indian economy revolves. Millions of cultivators growing raw cotton, lakhs of traders engaged in the distribution of cloth and thousands of persons engaged in the small industries depending on Cotton Mills for the disposal of their products, earn their bread though this industry. The Elgin Mills Company Ltd. occupied a predominant position in the industrial set up of Uttar Pradesh; it is the only largest industry whose origin, growth and advancement can be attributed to indigenous entrepreneurship. This flourishing industry of Kanpur has of late been facing problems like alleged neglect on part of the State Governments, extortion and scarcity of power forcing the industry bigwigs to seek alternatives in terms of business modules and better places.
