Atlas of Intraoperative Cytology of the Breast.

      Аннотация: A total of 1250 intraoperative specimens of the breast were studied by scraping cytological method during 25 years in order to evaluate the accuracy of and to establish criteria for rapid diagnosis. The prepared slides were stained by H&E method and results were called to the operating room in 5 min.Subsequently the results were compared with histology of the cases. Cytodiagnoses were correct in all cases except for 8 false results. All informations in this book which appears in the form of multiple color images with related texts are based on the study and research using scrape method in the breast specimens. Scraping method for intraoperative diagnosis of the breast lesions is cheap, informative, easily performed and reliable procedure and can be used as an alternative for frozen sections in cases where FNA has not established definite diagnosis. The content of the book does not cover all kinds of the breast lesions but includes many interesting and diverse subjects that are seen in routine works of pathologists, cytotechnologists and breast surgeons.
