Аннотация: Law profession is one of the professions that has direct link with the common public and also has the power to bring in changes in the society. But in such a profession women aren’t treated as equal as men. Women are discriminated based on their gender in terms of power, pay and positions. Although, so many individuals have found space for assertion and individual empowerment women still lag behind men in terms of power and status due to various barriers. Though women enter law school in equal numbers to men, they are not found in higher grades of the profession as men. Thus, this research aims to assess the reasons of gender inequalities that persist against women lawyers in areas of remuneration, promotions, and other professional opportunities in law. Thus, it is essential to look for ways to minimize these barriers in order to motivate equal participation of women lawyers and enhance their work life balance and satisfaction in their profession. This work will be especially useful for people in gender studies and law profession and also for those who are interested in growth of women in unconventional professions.
