To meet the demand of an aesthetic smile and the drive to provide the patients with long lasting restorations dentists, scientists, clinician and researchers have strived hard to find the ideal restorative material for many years. Dental ceramics are non metallic inorganic structures primarily containing compounds of oxygen with one or more metallic or semi metallic elements. Ceramics are widely used in dentistry due to their ability to mimic the optical characteristics of enamel and dentin, their biocompatibility and their chemical durability. All ceramic systems can provide a better aesthetic result for a wider range of patients than can metal ceramics systems because a wider range of translucency and opacity can be achieved.
