Аннотация: Sleep deprivations are increasingly prevalent among college students, with the most commonly reported complaints being difficulty falling asleep, difficulty maintaining sleep, early morning awakenings, poor sleep quality, early morning fatigue/ sleepiness and daytime napping. Sleep problems have a great impact on the students’ daily life, for example, the grade point average. Medical and Allied Health students are considered as ideal for other youth. As their academic load is very high and consequently the competition among them as well. Because of this they have developed a habit to keep awake for longer durations at night. Thus the irregular daytime routines, side jobs and exam periods lead them to a condition of sleep deprivation. Beyond academic considerations, sleep problems in university students are often connected with mental health issues such as chronic fatigue, depression, stress, lower optimism, anxiety and a lower quality of life which may end up with suicide. Thus the aim of this book is to save life of young adults by teaching them healthy coping strategies suggested by occupational therapists to manage sleep deprivation.
