A Comparative Analysis of the Yor?b? ??? and the Biblical SATAN.

      Аннотация: The general feeling among some of the Yor?b? people is that E??u? is the Satan of the Christian religion and Shaitan of the Islam religion. However, according to the Yoru?ba? theology, E??u? is one of the primordial divinities created by Ol?d?mar? (God) and he is in charge of rituals and sacrifices. This study posits, through analytic, argumentative and descriptive methods of research, that, though, Satan has been wrongly interpreted as E??u?, but a close look at the two personalities would reveal that the differences between both deities are more than the similarities, which validate position that both deities are different. In the same vein a preferable substitute for the interpretation of the Biblical Satan into Yor?b? was prescribed, this is aimed at erasing the already held misconception in the minds of people particularly the Yor?b? Christians and as well instilling the right conception into their minds.
