Аннотация: This is a textbook compilation of academic research toolkit resources as distinguished from other types of enquiries such as commissioned research or consultancy assignments. It is intended to be used a survival toolkit for both research students and their supervisors. The overall aim of this textbook compendium is to introduce research students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels to the process and basic tools and techniques of conducting an academic research in Social Science context. The book is not only intended to impart the basic research procedures in the more complex assignments and projects at both masters’ and doctoral degree programmes, but also to present the required scholarly writing skills. Students will be able to design basic research proposals with realistic objectives, appropriate methodologies and within a manageable timescale whilst understanding the limitations of a chosen research approach and method of primary data capture. They will also be able to apply basic techniques of quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Most importantly, the book explains to students how to critically evaluate their own work and other peoples' research outputs
