Аннотация: The book ‘Fundamentals of Applied Engineering Physics’ is a collection of my lecture notes over the years. The book is intended for basic courses in Physics for students perusing professional courses and a degree in physics. The book covers the topics in material science and condensed matter Physics. The book has fifteen chapters. The first couple of chapters gives an in-depth knowledge of basic solid state physics, chapter 4 and 5 gives the fundamental materials physics and statistical mechanics, chapter 7 and 8 focuses on quantum physics. Semiconductor Physics and Devices have been discussed in detail in chapter 8 and 9, while dielectric and magnetic properties have been discussed in chapters 10 and 11. Lasers and Optical fibers are discussed in detail in chapters 12 and 13, while the last two chapters 14 and 15 deal with Acoustics of a building and Nanomaterials. The book is written in simple language with an aim to provide the clear concepts of the topics to students. The book gives logical presentation with wide variety of examples of the concepts. To develop the problem solving skills and critical thinking, over one hundred bit type questions with answers.
