Аннотация: The book is a research work undertaken by the author Dr.R.Jerry Arokyamary, leading to the award of Ph.D in Library & Information Science, at the University of Mysore, Mysuru, Karnataka State, INDIA, under the guidance of Dr.C.P. Ramasesh, Librarian, University of Mysore. Research Universe selected for survey was the VTU Engineering colleges of the Karnataka State. This study was conducted in two dimensions, encompassing the issues concerned with the extent of adequacy of the various existing Information Technology infrastructure facilities in the engineering colleges of Karnataka on one hand and, mapping and assessment of the ICT core competency levels among the LIS professionals on the other. An customized online survey method/tool was specially designed and used to collect data/ capture the relevant responses from the LIS professionals working in the these colleges.The first part was a survey of the availability of IT facilities. The study was to assess the availability of IT infrastructure among the 133 VTU engineering colleges. Second part was about the mapping of the ICT core competency levels of the LIS professionals.
