Khortha: A Linguistic Analysis.

      Аннотация: The present book Phonological and Morphosyntactic Analysis of Khortha, is my Doctoral Thesis, where I have tried to document a language, which has a very less numbers of speakers left, and which is on the verge of extinction. Being the world’s largest democracy and hosting the world’s second largest population, India is truly multicultural.known for its multiplicity and diversity of languages it is because of our tribal languages. Khortha is also one of the tribal languages which is spoken by the tribal as well as non-tribal of Hazaribagh and Giridih districts in Jharkhand.( around 4.7 million people ,2001 census). As Khortha is vulnerable in nature and existing in oral form only, it was an urgent need to document the language and give it is a written structure. A detailed analysis on the various linguistic aspects of the language including Phonology, Mrophology and Socio-linguistics, has been done.The work is an attempt to safeguard a language and paving a way for the future researchers and generations to look upon and take the work on a higher level
