CAD-CAM IN PROSTHODONTICS A Revolutionary Avenue to Digital Dentistry.

      Аннотация: The latest innovations in technology made almost all things possible in this world.In this fast changing world One visit treatment for indirect restorations has been made possible by technological development which enable digitalization and replication of the complex topography of the tooth surface using computer-aided design / computer-aided manufacture (CAD/CAM). Over the years there has been a constant upgradation in the quality and popularity of its application to dentistry.The acronym CAD/CAM represents Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing(CAM). It is possible to design and fabricate ceramic restorations at single appointment as opposed to the traditional method of making impressions, fabricating prosthesis and using a laboratory for development of the restoration. The sophisticated processing of advanced ceramics for dental restoration lead to the further development of CAD/CAM technologies. This book outlines the developments in the evolution of CAD/CAM ceramic restorations over the last three decades and considers the state of the art in the several extended and innovative applications of dental ceramics.
