Аннотация: Separation of power is an instrument which is supposed to be respected at all cost as far governance is concern. Though being foreign in Africa and Cameroon in particular, with the separation of power between the executive, legislative and the judiciary arm of governments, our very values of democracy will be put into practice, our society will be free from political manipulation, there will be the respect of human rights and the leaders will be able to rule taking into consideration the will of the people. Taking the case study of Cameroon into consideration, what is call separation of power is well articulated in its constitution of 1996, but the question is now is, is it put into practice? Given that separation of power is fast depreciating in Cameroon because of exponents put in place to oversee democratic issues, the researcher in this project answered questions pertaining to what, how and why separation of power is being practice in Cameroon. While analyzing the functions and the short comings of various arms of government, the researcher also suggest recommendations to stakeholders for the betterment of the democratic values in Cameroon.
