Аннотация: The book examined the Effects of Cognitive Restructuring and Social Skills Training Counselling Techniques on Avoidant Personality Disorder among Secondary School Students. The book provides structured practical counselling techniques for both CR and SST. The populations of this study were Secondary School students who demonstrate symptoms of APD. A sample were drawn using Avoidant Personality Test (DSM – II APD) which was administered to the the sampled students. Those in the treatment groups were exposed to either CR or SST 30 minute treatment sessions weekly for twelve (12) weeks which were made up of twelve sessions. The study found out that both CR and SST counseling techniques are effective in the reduction of APD. Also there is a differential effect base on gender in the CR treatment in favor of male while there is no differential effect base on gender in SST treatment. The study recommended that a standardized structured counselling treatment package of the two techniques (CR and SST) should be designed and incorporated into schools national curriculum.
