Аннотация: In Andhra Pradesh 50.82 per cent of the total cultivated area is under dryland, of which Ananthapur, Kurnool and Prakasam districts together constitute half of the state's dryland area. There are specific technologies which are proved to be economically viable and operationally feasible for dry farming, but the diffusion of these technologies is very slow. This book aims to study the level of agricultural technology adoption in dryland areas of Andhra Pradesh. The tools ie., Cost concepts approach, Technology adoption index, Multinomial logit model and Cobb-douglas production function were employed to analyse the data. Ananthapur district showed least performance in terms of yield and returns of the crops grown in relation to other two districts. The mean technology adoption ranged between 35.95 and 46.04 among the crops and it was low in Ananthapur district. Education, extension contact and farmer trainings helped to increase level of technology adoption. The average level of yield, gross income, net income increased as the technology adoption increases. This book is useful to scholars, researchers and policy makers to understand the importance of technology adoption in dryland.
