Аннотация: Running is a common sporting activity across the globe. Awareness of wellness and healthy lifestyle habits contributed to the increasing number of people participating in such activities, particularly running. People choose running as it is convenient, cheap and participants are subject to fewer injuries compared to other sports. The tendency of developing degenerative joint disorders increases with advancing age. Knee Osteoarthritis is a prevalent condition in the general population, whose common belief is that running would ruin one's knees. Hence, it is essential to look for such evidence in scientific literature. The number of studies associating runners and Osteoarthritis is not voluminous, yet an attempt is made to gather maximum information from the literature spanning form laymen to elite runners. The focus of the book is to gather information from radiological studies, serum markers, population studies, reviews, and meta-analysis. It also briefly touches upon the differences between shoe, minimalist shoe and barefoot running. The book is an asset for professionals looking for a concise overview of the link between running and osteoarthritis.
