Аннотация: When Architecture and Sociology are mentioned in the same context, it is obvious that the discussion will go about social problems of architecture, architecture within society and architecture as an environment for the life of people. The study was focused primarily on the interdisciplinary status of Sociology of Architecture, and it was assumed that this branch of Sociological knowledge includes such spheres as Aesthetics and Political theory as well. Moreover, the object of the research was not only Sociology of Architecture itself, but also one of the prominent Turkish architects Turgut Cansever. Cansever is the only architect in the world who has won The Aga Khan Award three times. For Cansever, architecture is an attempt to beautify the world in which man lives. For him, architecture is not a job, is not a career. For him, architecture is a war with modern world, is a search for the truth and search for the real being. This work does not only show Sociology of Architecture and, in particular, Turgut Сansever from a different perspective, but also brings up such topics as aesthetics in architecture and modernism, and tries to define architecture and power relations.
