Аннотация: Solid dispersion technology provides the field of medicine with promising hopes for assistance in diagnostic and treatment technologies as well as improving quality of life.It is used for overcoming the solubility problems. Dissolution and absorption of poorly water soluble drugs is the main challenge in pharmaceutical industry. Hot melt extrusion technique is more advantageous in enhancing the solubility, absorption and bioavailability over solvent evaporation and Fusion methods and it is cost effective also as there is no usage of solvents. Heat and the use of organic solvents may be required to solubilize the compound into the carrier matrix. After removal of these solubilization factors (i.e., after cooling or removal of the solvent), the compound may no longer be soluble in the carrier. In the most problematic cases, recrystallization of the compound in the dispersion matrix may occur, leading to significant reduction in the dissolution and bioavailability of the compound. Eprosartan is a commonly used anti-hypertensive agent belonging to the family of angiotensin II receptor antagonists.Drug is a BCS class II drug being slightly soluble in water.
