Аннотация: The context in which young children learn the English language and literacy is very crucial to their academic success later on. The Ministry of Education in Jordan has lately adopted the preschool years to be part of the educational system. That adoption has given rise to establishing kindergartens in most schools. Thus, the Ministry developed and disseminate a framework for a kindergarten curriculum which may be reviewed later in relation to the present suggested program. After examining the curriculum of the Ministry of Education used in the Kindergartens of the public schools, the researcher found that the amount of knowledge is not sufficient to promote children's language literacy. Thus, a new proposed instructional program was designed hoping to bridge the gap in the present curriculum. The researcher also suggested the instructional techniques that should be used by teachers to implement this program. The present study tried to find out the effectiveness of the proposed instructional program, as compared to the existing curriculum in the Jordanian kindergartens in promoting kindergartners' literacy.
