Cloud Computing in Public Health. Concepts, Applications, and Implementation

      Аннотация: From a global perspective, a wide population does not have access to quality health care. The burden of Non-communicable and communicable disease is rapidly growing, contributing as a major factor to poverty and hunger. Despite ongoing efforts to enhance disease surveillance system and response, many countries face challenges in accurately identifying, diagnosing and reporting infectious diseases due to inaccessibility of communities, lack of both transport and communication infrastructures and great dearth of skilled health workers and laboratory facilities to ensure accurate diagnosis. So there is need of a system which can fulfill the demand of providing healthcare services to a large segment of deprived population, which in itself is a humongous task. But if technical applications are embedded with healthcare then irrespective of distance factor and manpower availability of a particular place, services can be provided with cost effectiveness. A cloud enabled system has ability to provide effective preventive, promotive and curative services. This books talks about how Cloud Technology can be a game changer in health delivery system.
