Аннотация: Diabetic foot ulcers are a common problem in surgical practice world over. However clinical material that focuses on the pathology and management of this problem is limited in most text books of surgery. This monograph extensively covers all the aspects of diabetic foot ulcers and the risk factors that lead to lower extremity amputation. Salient features include, the incidence of foot ulcers diabetic patients, patho-physiology of diabetic foot ulcers, the risk factors for amputation based on a prospective study of 120 patients spanning over 2 years, management of foot ulcers in diabetics, special focus on an economical off-loading device for diabetic foot ulcers, re-vascularization in diabetic foot ulcers, graphs and charts are provided to make the content of the study reader friendly. The text is presented in a simple, easy to understand format. This monograph would be an ideal companion for training and practicing surgeons, physicians, nursing, paramedical personnel who deal with patients with diabetic foot problems.
