Аннотация: This is a book about the salient issues that plague our contemporary society: gender based violence, rape, sexual discrimination at work, in society and at home. The woman seems to be bearing burdens that are tagged traditional and destiny. The women writers studied represent both the European and African experiences of gender discrimination, and by extension a universal patriarchy. They show similarities in male attitudes that are considered oppressive and that cut across global cultures. Their works were analysed from the perspectives of psychological undertones of human behaviours and the realities that make them our personal and observed realities. Loving relationships that do not seek to dominate others both at home and in public will give us the much need universal peace and harmony. Researchers and students of Feminist Literature will find this book an asset. REVIEW: This work will no doubt enrich existing Feminist Literature apart from initiating further gender related studies. It opens up a more critical analysis cum reactions to world order. A book to read, and read again for a lift from prejudiced attitude and uncritical mindset. Prof. 'Biodun Akinpelu, LASU. Nigeria.
